Turkish Association for Energy Economics announced Kardelen Afrodit Adsal, who generated energy from the banana peel won the 8th March Energetic Women Award this year.
Prof. Dr. Gürkan Kumbaroğlu, President of Association for Energy Economics, stated that they will give the Award for the first time this year:
Our award aims to promote women who are serving as stakeholders and providing superior service and contribution to the energy sector. The award also aims to improve the role of women in the sector by making them an example for other women.
The award-winning project implemented by Kardelen Afrodit Adsal aims to find an economic and environment-friendly solution to the heating problems that producers face especially in the winter in greenhouses.
The project reduces the average greenhouse temperature to a value close to the production temperature without being connected to an extra energy source by using the banana wastes.
